Unfortunately not…Most of the chips on the shelf are made in a cheaper, continuous process that skips the step of making a tortilla first.   #1 Cook whole corn kernels in water and culinary lime, a process known as Nixtamalization. #2 Grind the corn into masa using two hand carved lava stones. #3 Make tortillas with our masa and send them through an oven to bake. #4 We cut each tortilla into 4 triangles, fry 'em up in a big fryer, and season them with sea salt. #5 The chips get bagged, boxed and shipped out to stores across the country #6 The chips fulfill their destiny   My Name is Zack and Tortilla Chips Are My Favorite Food.
